Creative Ventures of 2014

Or, "assorted drawings from the past year". They are very few and far in between, to my great disappointment.

Let's kick things off with Tom Hiddleston as Henry V!

I rather like this drawing. A lot.

The Tom Hiddleston kick continued with a portrait of the self-same man:

This is also one of my favorite drawings. I had never drawn quite such a large grin before, or so many teeth. Hence it was an experience. This was finished in Colorado.

For Christmas I did this for my uncle. He had a cat who was 17 years old named Leo (and this drawing was just in time, because the same cat ended up getting sick and had to be put to sleep a couple of months later. O.o)

Along similar lines, but not the same as the drawings, is the big projects of 2015: hand-piecing a quilt. Apparently I can never do anything by halves, because instead of doing something relatively easy I decided to start with a hummingbird pattern.

This is an antique quilt that my mom has had in her possession for over a decade. In all of my searchings on the internet I haven't found another one like it (unless one was to paper-piece it, and that version just doesn't look as interesting). Apparently every other pattern that looked interesting wasn't fiddly enough.

This is part of my take on it....at first I was going to attached each row as it was made, but I was having trouble getting my points to line up in a satisfactory manner. Now I'm piecing the rows with the idea of ironing them and then piecing the rows all at once. I think the points will turn out okay once the whole thing is done and quilted...but we'll see.

My grandma hand-pieces hexagon quilts, the English flower garden pattern, and has made several over her lifetime. My mom hand-quilts, and usually has one project or another in a frame. I've machine-pieced several projects, but have never quilted or hand-pieced anything before. Considering the familial tendency towards quilts, this gravitation towards an old-fashioned project has seemed very natural.

Otherwise, I have either (a) not had time or (b) not made time as far as my art is concerned for the past several months. It's not that I don't want to, or I don't care....but I have a difficult time staying focused on projects. I have two large drawings sitting in a sketchpad waiting to be finished, and tons of ideas...but it's hard to get it all down when one gets home from work and wants to go riding instead, or bathrooms need cleaned, or floors haven't been swept in two weeks, or there's a sinkful of dishes, or lunch hasn't been prepared for the next day, ad infinitum.

I think the moral here is that I need to learn to manage my time better. And to start drawing for me again instead of for other people.

Thorin Oakenshield

After I drew the picture of Claire weeks ago, I had promised myself that I could finally start the picture of Thorin Oakenshield. I had it printed off and waiting in my sketchbook for the perfect time to start drawing...

...but that time kinda never came. So last Thursday I said to myself, "Self, you need to draw more!"

My self replied, "Then let's draw!"

To make a long story short, that was the beginning of the Thorin drawing. (I bet I could have saved you a lot of time by just showing you the picture. Meh.)

Please excuse the crappy cell-phone-camera quality of this picture:

Thus it began. :D

And tonight I finally finished it!

After staring at it for hours there are parts that really annoy me. (Like one eye turning out bigger than the other one. *twitches*) I AM very happy with the hair, the metal handle thing, and his armor, though, so I guess those make up for the perceived 'iffy' bits.

I also think that this is the darkest drawing I've ever done. The page was curling like crazy towards the end what with all the pencil lead and pressure...hopefully some time pressed down in the book will be good for it.

An Art Update?

Believe it or not, I *have* had time to draw out here. It's not much, but 20 minutes here and there certainly adds up, and being sick for the past two days has helped with the final push on a couple of drawings.

This is for EB...her horse Copper was out of commission for most of the last month, so I drew a picture of him. It turned out pretty good, methinks--now to bite the bullet and cut it out of my sketchbook so she can frame it. *gulp*

And then there's the Rascally horse...this one was fun. I love the markings of Appaloosas, but actually drawing them is sometimes a challenge. Fortunately this one was just fun rather than challenging.

I've done a lot of doodles and sketches (mostly of people's faces, and there's a piece of paper floating around in the barn with Remington on it), but nothing really noteworthy. I've been asked to do a portrait and another horse drawing, though--hopefully I'll have them done before the requesters leave. ^^;

There's also been a joke idea going around where I would write and illustrate a book called 'Darron-Specific Problems' that covers the issues that our very own Darron experiences (inspired by a story told by the man himself and EB's deadpanned 'that sounds like a Darron-specific problem'). That one is still in the workings; we'll see if anything actually becomes of it. First I have to figure out how to draw the goober--do you know how hard it is to draw people one knows?

In other news, I broke down and bought a Kindle Fire HD today. :3 Still have to wait for it to get here, but I'm expecting it by next week. I've never had a tablet of any kind before, and the Kindle Fire seemed to give the most bang for its buck (I've been researching and debating on this for almost a year--much thought went into it). To say I'm excited is a bit of an understatement. Heh. So here's to the first tablet! And hopefully more time can be spent on drawings and such in the future.

Hawkhorse? Horseeye?

This is embarrassingly addicting, ya'll. I think Loki or Captain America may be next (with a request for the Hulk somewhere in there too XD)...

I've been discovering that this particular paper has a tooth to it that makes the colored bits look slightly speckled. This makes it a bit difficult to make the colors blend to a satisfactory point (I got a little lazy on the collar of the vest), so between layering dozens of colors (chestnut coat colors are kinda complex) and blending with the paper stumps this is the result of several hours. Sigh.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

I have a slight complaint to make...I almost posted this on Facebook, but thought it might make some people feel guilty. Here, however, I can say what I like. XD

Every time I mention Colorado, people feel this uncontrollable desire to go 'bet you're going to find a husband out there, hur hur' *wink wink* *nudge nudge* I mean, it's nice to know what everyone is thinking...but after the twentieth time it gets a little old. O.e

And for the record, I really don't plan on 'finding a catch' while I'm out there. (I know what they say about 'best-laid plans', but hear me out.) I don't talk about this, generally speaking, because I've felt caution about spewing my thoughts on the subject...but there's a guy here in town that I've had my eye on for a while ('a while' meaning 'several years'), but I thought he didn't know I existed so I've never said anything to anybody. Long story short, he knows I exist (at least XD) but thinks he's too old. Whatever. Seeing as how I'm leaving for the next five months I can't exactly say anything at this point either. With that in mind, I don't plan on 'finding someone' while I'm gone, because if all hopes and dreams come to fruition, I won't have to look outside of my hometown anyway.

Hope is a dangerous thing, folks...that's all I gotta say about it. And that's not to say that all my 'hopes and dreams' will even come about, but dangit, it's nice to have a faint thread of hope sometimes.

Thorse and Other Things of Importance

By 'important' I mean 'important enough to mention'. So here goes.

First in the order of importance, the Thorse! This is almost finished...

And this is completed. For some explanation: a few years ago I went through a phase where I was drawing Les Mis and Phantom of the Opera characters as horses...laugh all you like, but dangit, I had fun with it. This is just a hearkening back to those times, if you will. I have a very rough sketch of what might be horsey!Hawkeye. Maybe. Depends on if I can get his silly leg to look right. O.e

I bought this book last week after briefly glancing through it at a friend's house and liking what I saw. It goes through traditions of the church and traces them back to their original roots, pointing out that the majority of time-honored traditions (everything from having a paid pastor to sitting in pews to having a 'church building' to worship teams to dressing up for church) were things that weren't done during the first century of Christianity and, more often than not, were taken from pagan culture. (By 'pagan' they mean principles that aren't Christian or biblical in origin but taken from the surrounding culture, not necessarily something that is evil or wrong.)

I personally have found it to be a very interesting read. I'm not about to jump ship from traditional church or anything like that, but I'm going to work through the New Testament with an emphasis on seeing how the church operated back then. And by 'church' I mean the body of believers, not a building. XD

Colorado is approaching in 13 days. O.o I have a ride to the ranch, my train ticket is ready to be printed...this is really happening. Phew.

School is coming along...sort of. My last assignment has been sent back twice with a big fat 0 and no explanation/corrections as to why...hopefully my teacher will answer my email because I'm getting a little nervous.

In other news, it's very late and tomorrow is going to be a big day of cleaning. My room is a disaster area--since I haven't had to work or keep to much of a schedule lately I've kind of let it go loose. I'm typing this in a little space on my desk between piles of school books, sketchpads, piles of small pocket items, embroidery floss, and some cosmetics. I've heard it said that a messy desk is a sign of creativity...but this is a bit over the top.

The Latest Project

What do you think it is?

Hmmm?

Okay, maybe this one gives it away...I've taken up bookbinding!

(Quick backstory here: my brother had a friend from college who made a sketchbook for my brother's fiance, and to be quite honest it wasn't that good. Each section of pages (or signature) was like 20 pages messily folded in half, nothing was glued, etc. I'm not saying mine is fantastic or anything, but seeing that made me think 'well, I could do better than that' so this is my shot at it. *takes a breath* No offense if that friend reads this blog. I know he doesn't, though, so I should be good.)

This is just printer paper, folded in half, torn, and folded in half again to form a quarter-page-sized booklet. Each signature is 4 pages, and I think there's 8 signatures. The thread is normal polyester, two pieces folded in half so there's 4 threads total. I just used Elmer's glue for the binding because I don't have any other glue on hand.

See the glue on the edge there? That turned out to be a mistake--it dried into a hard edge, and now the spine is wonky. But I think I know how to avoid that next time.

The cover is some scrap fabric over cardboard (the back of an old sketchbook, actually), all glued again with Elmer's. It seeped rather badly through the fabric, so I'll have to figure out a less messy way for the next time.

I have a TON of old sheet music for craft use lying about, so one sheet became the endpapers.

And the inside is just printer paper. I think next time I'd like to use watercolor paper, or something of a similar heavier stock.

On a side note, this entire project (including tearing and folding the paper) probably took me around an hour. The use of a hair dryer to speed up the glue drying helped immensely, but it wasn't NEARLY as hard as I thought it would be. I watched the original Planet of the Apes while assembling the pages (and tried very hard not to be shocked by the '70s--they had a fascination with butts back then. I saw more of Charleton Heston's backside within an hour and a half than I ever desired to see in my entire lifetime. *shudders*), and the cover took maybe half an hour to put together.

You know what this means, right?

MOAR BOOKBINDING (and less Planet of the Apes)

On a random note, church was canceled yesterday due to an ice storm. Hence, no notes from the study. But fear not, we will be up and running by next Sunday, provided there are no more ice storms.

On another random note, I'm still waiting to hear back from this one dude ranch in Colorado. *bites nails* All the people they called have told me that it's almost a certainty that I'll get the job...BUT THE SUSPENSE. *flails*

Antiques?

I was going to post some pictures of antique treasures that I found a couple of weeks ago...but since I neglected to take any pictures of said treasures and my feet hurt too much to get up and take any pictures, you'll have to imagine what I got instead (with the assistance of Google images).

Item no. 1: a jar full of buttons. Imagine one of these, but full of little metal buttons instead of a colorful variety:

I'm an unabashed button freak. I just need to find a way to use them all.

Item no. 2, a pair of rather well-made spats. They're far too small (curse you, anorexic ankles of yesteryear!), but still look very cool. Mine are like these below--same style and color, but without the buckles:

Items no. 3 and 4, little square glass bottles. Each holds roughly an ounce, maybe a bit less. One has a cork and currently holds my attempt at perfume (essential oils splashed into some olive oil and glycerin). It smells good, but doesn't last for more than 15 minutes. Sigh.

And item no. 5, a little bottle of ink with a built-in inkwell. I'd never seen anything like it before:

Mine has the brand 'Skrip' on the lid, and is completely full of black ink. I have yet to try it out yet, but I'm sure it's still good for writing. And it's dang cool to boot.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

In other news, I'm off to see my brother's girlfriend tomorrow...she's going to cosmetology school and needs a model for hairstyling, washing, etc. I'm her lucky guinea pig. And it ought to be interesting. Her mom is picking me up at 6 tomorrow morning...hence more interesting (or just sleep deprivation).

Mom and I have been walking in the mornings since last Wednesday. There's a lady my mom used to work out with, and we've all fallen off the fitness wagon (as it were) so we're trying to get back into shape. For the past week we've been walking from 6 to 6:30 (that's AM, not PM *sobs*) and may start jogging this week. There's also some bike riding in there somewhere. And I DO enjoy it once I get moving...but it's been freakishly cold these past few days, coupled with it being very dark that early in the morning, and late nights, and it's just not that pleasant to begin with. Sigh. Maybe I'll get used to it. After a couple of years of 'sleeping in' til 7:30 or 8 it's been rough on the old sleeping pattern.

Umm...what else...I've done a couple drawings for a Hobbit fanart contest, but I'm stuck for a bit between lack of time and agonizing over if they're good/not good/whatever. I'll post them eventually along with pleadings to vote for my drawings before they go up before the official judges. *gulps* So far I have one of Bilbo (on a HORSE!), and one of a random Goblin-town goblin. He's pretty mean-looking.

I'm not sure what else to talk about, so I'll leave off with a question: If you could request anything to be drawn from The Hobbit (creatures, characters, weapons, or places), what would it be? I'm debating doing the spider den (or just a couple of spiders by themselves) for a location...but I want to hear what you all would want to see. I can't guarantee anything, but inspiration is wonderfully welcome.

Bah.

Long day...long weekend. It's just been a long month, y'know? So I'm going to whine for a bit before I recount the good stuff that's been happening.

I have this art commission that I've been working on for a couple of weeks. Most of the time lapse is because I'm only working on it at night, for an hour or so at a time, and it's freakishly detailed. I decided that the best way to do it (it's of four clone commandos from a Star Wars fanfic, by the by) is to draw each figure individually, do the lineart/coloring in Photoshop, and then stack them together so that it looks like they were all drawn in the same picture. But I did the lineart for two of the pictures and it looks clunky and I can't draw hands anymore and guns are stupid and I haven't been using the Wacom at ALL lately and BAH. I'm quitting that for now and am going to listen to Matt Chandler and eat chips for the rest of the night.

School has been somewhat on the back burner lately--it's all my fault, I know, because I work on art and after getting too frustrated to continue I've been internetting for a bit, and before I know it two hours have passed and I'm lucky if I get around to doing school twice a week. It's sad. I mean, it's getting done...but the process is SLOW. It's like my art commission, but worse.

I guess that's the only 'blargh'ish thing that have been going on lately...let's pick up on some good stuff!

The horse's leg is looking massively better. All the swelling has gone down, all the icky oozy disgusting stuff has dried up for the most part, and she's not nearly as ouchy as she was a week ago. I just haven't taken pictures yet. (I meant to today, and went for a ride instead thusly forgetting).

Work is going well. I got to decorate some cakes today (by which I mean 'pipe some icing on the edges'), and have a couple of short shifts each week instead of constantly working entire afternoon shifts.

While riding the horse today (I ran home, changed immediately, and went for a ride before my body could catch up and remind my brain that it was tired) I ran into a variety of reactions. See, most people wave and say 'hi' and occasionally some people want to pet the horse. We were walking past a woman and her three little girls--all probably under the age of 6--when one of the little girls asked if she could pet the horse. I said sure and started walking Colletta towards them when the younger girls started screaming in terror--full-blown, tearful, wailing terror--and hiding behind their mother.

Now granted, the horse is basically a large pony in size. But when one is 4 or 5 she looks awfully big. So I stopped, tried to reassure them with their mom doing the same, and they kept on wailing. When their mom said, 'look, I'll pet her first' they just screamed louder. I was at least 10 feet away at this point, and the horse was completely unperturbed by the ruckus. So instead of completely traumatizing the kids for life I took her on down the street, with the older girl following the horse a little ways yelling 'bye' and the younger girls continuing to sob in terror. I could still hear them half a block away. XD

Then a couple of blocks later a flock of about 10 kids under the age of twelve came over to pet the horse and feed her apples. So you never know how kids are going to react.

On a side note, part of my reason for riding today was to race people. Last week I was passed by a black car with a growly engine that was just begging to be raced, but I was riding bareback at the time and chickened out. I know I'd be creamed in a literal actual race, but it's pretty funny to pace people and look over to see their expression. Today I didn't follow through because the horse seemed a bit tender-footed--when she's walking on grass she takes big, easy steps, and on pavement her stride gets shorter and choppier; while there's no stumbling, I'm not sure how great pavement is for her legs. Meh.

Next week I have a friend coming over to stay for a few days...I can't wait. It's going to be nice to have a couple of days off to just talk and not be obligated to do anything other than feed the animals and ourselves.

There's not a whole lot else going on. It's still been a long day...a long week...a long month...a long several months...and there's still never enough time to do everything that needs to be done.

"Beware the barrenness of a busy life."

I'm feeling pretty barren these days. Things NEED to be done, and the things I WANT to do are an afterthought.

Some more projects

I think I mentioned in passing the other day something about some other projects I've been working on...well, new pictures haven't been taken but that's okay. You can still see what they are without a total visual revamp.

Last weekend there was a city-wide garage sale (so I heard, anyway, but I only saw 2 in my ride around town), so I stopped and grabbed this dress that caught my eye. It's simultaneously huge and, while technically not hideous, it's not flattering at all on me. (Hence no pictures of THAT.)

 (This is the front.)

The woman I bought it from says she used it for an angel costume. I just thought it looked interesting and repurpose-worthy.

There's crocheted stuff all around the bottom of the skirt, along with around the sleeves. I'll figure out a way to incorporate it somehow.

The back has this long train with a faux bustle-type thingy--interesting insofar as figuring out how bustles are made, but thoroughly unflattering when actually worn.

Thus far I've dismantled the entire thing--the skirt was so long that I was able to separate it into two sections horizontally, and the bottom section is so large that I can wrap it, doubled, around myself twice. I have plans for some bloomers...a slip/shift...something along those lines.

The bodice had a green velvet lace-up thing on the inside, but it was unsalvageable. The outside of the bodice could be worn backwards like a cropped vest, as long as one doesn't mind having a forest of lace ruffles on the back. And the sleeves might be able to be reused...I don't know. So far, I plan on using every bit in one way or another whether it be in clothing or even quilting fabric. This stuff seems pretty versatile (it's made from a heavy cotton overlayed with lots and LOTS of lace).

It's currently lying in a heap on the edge of the piano. But it WILL be used.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

And the other project! I've wanted to make one of these forever, but preferred teetering on the edge instead of plunging forth and DOING it. (Partially because I didn't have a suitable book.) But now it's done (mostly), and here are the fruits of my labor.

It just looks like a normal book, right? Well, that's the idea anyway.

Ta-da! It's a book safe! Originally it was going to be a normal rectangular hole, but while planning out the dimensions of the inside I remembered that I didn't have a place to put my iPod (I'm forever putting it down and forgetting what I did with it). So here's the solution.

Am I the only one who cracks up at the 'Best of luck, old boy!' quote in the middle?

The little half-moon thing is a finger hole so I can pull it out without turning the entire thing over. The circular hole is for a magnet (I have one, but am not sure how to insert it). And the rectangle at the bottom is for cords and a pair of earbuds (if my pair ever shows up again).

I used the tutorial over at the Art of Manliness website (minus the green felt) with some inspiration from various tutorials on Instructables and looking at pictures of other people's book safes.

I used the book 'Memoirs of an Infantry Officer' because it's supremely dull and probably would have been donated if I hadn't saved it. It's a blah book but it makes a great safe. (I do love books. But boring ones have other uses besides being read.)

So there 'tis. That's what I've been up to, more or less, when not working etc. Here's to more creativity!

A Slightly Different Post

Just imagine me as Agent Coulson here. But with more squealing.
So...I saw The Avengers last week. Twice. And I really really liked it. It's to the point that I've been collecting funny comics/pictures and reading about the movie on TvTropes. *hangs head*

I can't help it! The Avengers was just so good! And funny!

So here's some funny pictures. Some are related to the movie, some not, but if you haven't seen the movie, here there (might) be spoilers. O.e Enjoy.

Hawkeye hitches a ride with everyone!

Duh.
"Have you seen my brother?" B'AWWWWW! *squishes sad!Thor*
Because Thor is totally the scrapbooking type.
Anyway. Hope ya enjoyed the fansplosion of geekiness and have an appreciation for The Avengers in adorable comic form now. XD

30 Day Drawing Challenge--Day 8

Day 8 -- Favorite Animated Character

Okay, I LOVE Wall-E. It's out there now. :p He's the only robot I know of that makes me go 'AWWW' and want to scoop him up and cuddle him. Plus he's so simple and pure in nature, that it never seems to occur to him to do the wrong thing...such a cute little guy.

This was a blend of pen tool, paintbrush (finally figured out how to take the tablet pressure as opposed to pen pressure, so the lineart is a bit cleaner now), stamp tools, and various opacity plus burn tool. There's a lot of different methods all thrown together here...
and I did look at a picture to draw this, but it was all free-hand otherwise. (Looking at pictures for reference is not cheating. I rest my case.)

At first I was really stumped on this one, because the only animated movies I watch are Pixar and Dreamworks-related. And lately I haven't had a 'favorite' character of the animated nature...sure, Gru and Megamind came to mind, but they aren't hardcore favorites. Ya know?

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Otherwise, I rode the horse for about 45 minutes today working on walking, trotting, loping, stopping, and a little turning on the forehand in the pasture. She was rather lazy--she tripped with her back feet once while loping across the pasture (*facepalm*), and didn't seem to have a lot of energy. But then again, I haven't had much energy either. I had to force myself to go out and ride today. >.< In retrospect I'm glad that I did...but at the time the only thing I wanted to do was flop on my bed and go 'urgh'.

Regarding the horse, she's getting easier to work with. (Or today may have just been a good day. XD) Laziness aside she is pretty willing and doesn't fuss as much as she used to...oh, the battles we used to have. But no more!

Anyway. Enough rambling...time to continue posting shtuff on FB etc. *toddles off*

30 Day Drawing Challenge -- Day 6

Day 6 --Favorite Book Character

For the uninitiated...I am an enormous fan of Les Miserables. (Or at least WAS an enormous fan--the fervor has cooled somewhat in the past year or so after I saw it onstage.) And my absolute favorite character in the book/musical is Inspector Javert.

My interest--or dare I saw, obsession--with this guy got to the point where I would write down 'conversations' between him and myself, and he starred in several old fanfics. To make a long story short, he's a snarky old cop with some issues when it comes to 'the law' and making his life have meaning and I loved poking fun at the guy.

(Actually, he kinda acted as a buffer for ideas--when I was feeling overly emotional or irritated I'd toss the current botheration at him, and having a no-nonsense comeback usually kept me fairly grounded. And I swear I'm not crazy. O.o If it makes you feel better, he was something like an inner editor.)

So method...I tried to use the pen tool and stroke for the outline, but I couldn't figure out how to change the stroke pattern until much later. So the outline is drawn normally, with the pen tool used for quick coloring and shading. (Well...I SAY quick... *coughs*) The shading is just simple cell shading...and it took me a ridiculous amount of time but it IS finally done. I haven't drawn Javert or full-body pictures in forever.

30 Day Drawing Challenge -- Day 3

Day tres of zee drawink challenge...it is here! And I got done a little quicker than I thought I would today.

Day 3 -- Favorite Food

I can't help it...BACON! I've been having it every morning with (for?) breakfast for weeks along with an egg covered with nutritional yeast. Ees amazing.

So for the painting here I just slapped down the base color with a brush, then with a variety of splatter brushes at different sizes and opacity went at the actual bacon. Hence, it got a little impressionistic...and instead of working on several layers for coloring, the entire drawing was done on one layer. It was fun to try something a bit different--and from a distance it looks ever so slightly real. At least to my eye. ;)

Have a lovely Thursday, folks! See you tomorrow with the next drawing...

30 Day Drawing Challenge--Days 1 & 2

Yesterday I started a 30-day drawing challenge, because I haven't been drawing consistently for ages (or I'd start a drawing, doodle/sketch for a while, get bored, and stop working on it). So, for the next 30 days, I will be drawing (and coloring!) 1 picture a day.

It's a general list, for the most part.

The only twist for me personally is that I'm restricting my drawing abilities to the Wacom tablet (I have a Bamboo Fun that doesn't get near the use it should, hence I'm not very good at it. XD). No starting from a pencil sketch or photograph--it all has to start and end from scratch on the tablet.

So with this being day 2, I've got the first two drawings finished...

 Day 1: Yourself

This was started last night around 8, hence it's a bit of a rush job. The style is reminiscent of a graphic novel I was writing/drawing a couple of years ago...the story fizzled out, but the art remained.

The coloring was done by using the pen tool and brushes at various opacity...nothing super special.

Day 2: Favorite Animal

Yeah, yeah, I know...everyone knows I can draw horses and that I stinking love them. XD I used to have an Arab filly this color, with the rose-grey dapples (she started out as a bay, and progressively got lighter. I never cut her mane and tail either, so both were incredibly long and thick and black/dark dark brown with reddish highlights.)

I colored in all the base colors by using the pen tool, and then used the dodge/burn tools for the shading.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

On a side note, am I the only one who is totally psyched for The Hunger Games? 8D I've been listening to fan-written music for the movie, and dang. I'm getting excited for this, folks. I couldn't put down the book when I got my grubby little mitts on it, and read the entire thing in one sitting. It was that good.

And because I can, here's a link to the music I've been listening to all day. It's the 'unofficial score', fan-made and such, but it's really, REALLY good.

http://hungergamesmusic.weebly.com/the-music.html
