Time for an update on the horse's leg! I'm sure you all have been waiting with bated breath.
The swelling in her leg went down in about 4 days--this was taken two days ago. It still looks nasty under the fetlock, but it's a lot better than it was.
As of 8/18 (this morning) this is pre-scrubbing or salve slathering. The crusty bits at this point seem to be more along the lines of dirt stuck to it rather than peeling skin.
(Please ignore my bare feet and don't take my example for horse safety. I'm barefoot in the horse lot as long as it's dry, which is all the time these days.)
More back pictures...the regimen of salve and spray has been helping immensely. Yay for homemade remedies!
In other news I made some deodorant tonight, based off of this recipe. It sounds promising; at this point the stuff is sitting in the bathroom cooling. I'll give it a shot tomorrow before church and let ya'll know how it works...there may or may not be pictures. I did let it cool a bit too much before putting it in the tube, so I was spooning and squishing it in rather than pouring, and it's all bumpy and kinda gross-looking...but it smells like cocoa, so I can deal with the ugliness.
And now I'm off to get a shower and clean my room that hasn't been touched for weeks...and then make popsicles. I've had those things on the brain for days.
Poor baby. But it looks so much better!!!
ReplyDeleteMe too! It looks even better now--there's a little strip about a quarter of the size from those pictures now.
