Dropping off the face of the earth was not my intention...I have merely been away in sunny mid-southern Florida for almost two weeks and completely lost track of time. So, without any further ado, here's what's been up in the past couple of weeks.
1. I visited my brother and sister-in-law in Florida. We had a blast, I got pictures of the boys, we ate out several times (resulting in gaining about 5 pounds *cries*), there was a sunburn at one point that is just now peeling, we visited the beach, etc. There was also quite a bit of housecleaning and baby-juggling, but it was all worth it. (Plus I found this AMAZING tea made of holy basil and roses that is to DIE for. More on that in the future.)
Upon reaching the Midwest again, I spent the night at a friend's house where their basement got flooded (which was an adventure in itself!) and the roads leading outside of town were impassable due to general flooding. This resulted in helping carrying things out of the basement, sucking up water with the Shop-Vac, and generally trying to dry up a damp situation. I have pictures from the drive home of creeks/rivers that, while normally being 30 feet or so across, now stretch for half a mile in each direction. It's insane. Another nasty shock was going from balmy 85-degree weather to icky, wet, overcast 50-degree weather with 6 inches of rain in less than 24 hours. Ugh.
2. I have 3 weeks of classwork to finish in 4 weeks. I imagine this will be accomplished, but the idea is filling me with a bit of dread (as I procrastinate here...meh).
3. I'm almost done watching a TV series called Pushing Daisies. My personality is the type that doesn't like to start something (i.e. TV shows) and not finish it (the notable exceptions being Torchwood and Supernatural--both are WAY too creepy for me). Plus, Pushing Daisies is only 2 seasons and I'll have it finished within a couple of days. It's.....interesting. I'm not exactly sure how to describe it, aside from very silly, a bit on the cartoonish side (what with the bright color palate and the situational humor), and very dark at the same time. I dunno. The best part is Lee Pace and his magnificent eyebrows--but I digress.
4. The leaving date for Colorado is in a month and two days. I'm not panicking yet...I think....just slightly freaking out. Slightly. I foresee sleep being a foreign concept due to nerves and trying to remember what all to pack. *gulp*
Speaking of packing, I need to go and unpack from Florida...and do school....sigh. I'll try to put up pictures this weekend sometime. Until then, fare thee well!
