Taking into account the absurd amount of photos that will be posted, read more after the break!
(Disclaimer: I didn't take pictures every day, and these are in no particular order. I may or may not inject anecdotal stuff periodically as well.)
The trip to the airport and the flight down were fairly smooth--I downloaded some new albums (I have found a new love in Of Monsters and Men) and movies to listen to on the way and help pass the time. I went from 60-degree weather to a balmy 80 degrees--within ten minutes of getting to the house I was in a tank top and shorts. It was AWESOME.
This is one of my favorite pics of Wade from the trip. :P The first evening we went to a place called The Pier to see an aquarium, walk around, get supper, etc--then race back to our parking spot to catch the meter. There was much sprinting/powerwalking involved. XD
CRAB! See how ferocious and threatening he looks? O.e Later he hid under a clump of seaweed, still waving his claws in a threatening manner but believing that he could not be seen.
Wade seemed more interested in eating the crayons at the restaurant rather than eating actual food (or coloring, for that matter).
I guess crayons are tasty to 18-month-old taste buds...
Lydiana and Ben! He's gotten so big just in the last month since I saw him last. And his tongue cracks me up.
A lime was offered...
...and it was decided that he did NOT like limes. XD
Wade LOVES being outside, by the way. Everything about the experience appeals, but especially if it means he can get as filthy as possible.
He's watched big people take pictures with cameras, so he was 'taking pictures' of me while I took pictures of him. :P
On his first mall ride!
Regarding the malls, by the way: it was very hot for the first part of the week while I was there, so we spent a lot of time walking around in malls. There was also quite a bit of thrifting--I bought so many extra clothes that I had to leave some behind to be shipped later. Heh. ^^;
Back to the mall ride! Ben wasn't quite sure what to think of it all. He wasn't scared or anything, but didn't seem too thrilled either. XD
And Wade was just very curious. I think he was a bit confused by the fact that it was moving and he wasn't going anywhere.
Mall train ride!
At first he didn't like the idea of this at all. He loved watching the train go past, but actually sitting in it was a little too close for comfort. Once it started moving he froze and only moved his head to look around...but I think towards the end he was enjoying it.
Beach day! Lydiana and I specifically went swimsuit shopping on my second day down there (yay Target!), and both invested in two-piece swimsuits.
For those of you who may not know me too well, an obsession with modesty and a loathing for certain body parts *cough*thighsandstomach*cough* have resulted in my always wearing a one-piece swimsuit. The past two years have been exercises in (a) stepping out with confidence to try new things and (c) to be a little more daring in life and clothing choices. So, getting a tankini and a bandeau top (gasp!) is VERY daring, personally speaking. Even though my top popped off at one point (thankfully a towel was close at hand)...but no one even noticed and in retrospect it's hilarious, so there. XD
Back to babies! It's bathtime...and Wade had just been crying because he splashed his face, hence the pouty expression.
He's like, "Why are you so happy, silly little brother??"
Aww, he's better now. :P
Oh! So apparently sardine cans are phones for Wade.
I kept mimicking him and saying, "Hello? Yes, this is Fish." He thought that was pretty funny.
He even dials on the can... *dies*
Pictures from the last day...BEN!
I have no idea what this face is, but it makes me laugh every time I see it. XD
Wade was in jail...he had taken his clothes and diaper off sometime before Lydiana went to get him up, and his crib was a mess. Containment was necessary to prevent more running about willy nilly and such...
He didn't seem too upset about it, at least.
So that's the end of the baby pictures...I still have aquarium and flooding pictures from Thursday, so keep an eye out for those. All in all, it was a great visit and I'll be looking forward to seeing everyone by Christmas.

Fun! I have enjoyed the post...and the bathing suit disclaimer XD It's so nice having someone to do fun things with!
ReplyDeleteAnd...WE HAVEN'T YET SENT YOUR THINGS O.o I shall continue to remind the man :)
Yes! I just wish we all lived closer to each other! :C
DeleteAh, I'm not in too much of a hurry to get stuff back. I can only take so much of it with me to Colorado anyway, right? :P
